We had to start small by taking care of the people’s immediate physical needs. Now we are changing the generational pattern of poverty of poverty in our community one project at a time.
And here’s how we did it:
Community Outreach
We started simple: providing food and clothing to families in immediate need.
Our work quickly progressed to infrastructure projects, such as installing water tanks and other sanitary systems.
A significant population of the children in the surrounding villages do not have parents to care for them. Our next move was to make sure these children had a roof over their head at night.
Mary Queen of Peace School
Once the children were fed, clothed, and sheltered, it was time to focus on their intellectual well being.
We built Mary Queen of Peace school for all children in our area, both orphans and children from in-need families.
Wind of Hope also looks to the needs of the local adults in the community. The Life Skill Center provides practical training for trades, such as sewing and Agribusiness.
A lack of medical facilities in the local villages makes childbirth extremely dangerous for both the mothers and their children. Wind of Hope recognized this need in the community and built the Mary, Ark of the New Covenant Medical Clinic.
