Mary Queen of Peace School

Over half of Uganda’s population is under the age of fifteen, representing one of the youngest populations in the world. We recognize that the children are our future, and so we set to work to build an outreach program specifically to help children.

Many families live in poverty, surviving on less than $1.90 a day. They struggle to provide for the basic needs of their children, let alone their education. In addition, a significant amount of the children are orphaned. So we organized a shelter for the impoverished children to receive a meal and a roof over their heads.

Once the immediate physical needs of the children were met, we expanded our efforts to begin to meet their intellectual needs as well. On average, only 53% of children in Uganda receive an elementary education. This is what we aim to change. Our first school building completed construction in 2020, and was named in honor of Mary, Queen of Peace.

At Mary Queen of Peace school, children receive one meal a day, school books, a uniform, and an education in reading, writing, and mathematics. In 2021, we grew the program to include training in farming principles to pave the way for students to have a future career in agribusiness, if they so choose.

In 2025, our second school building was completed, doubling our classroom capabilities. We currently accommodate 604 children.

Through our work at the school, we have empowered students to dream big and have given them the tools they need to build sustainable futures for themselves.

The cost to feed, clothe, and educate a child is $10 a month. Please consider donating today!
