Farm for the Future

Agriculture is the backbone of Uganda’s economy, employing 70% of the population. In order to give our students tools to build better futures for themselves, our school curriculum includes training in farming principles. The Farm for the Future is Wind of Hope’s official learning farm.

Children learn the basics of farming in preparation for a potential career in agribusiness. The farm is also partnered with our Life Skills Center, as we also host programs for adults. We raise vegetables, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and goats.

The food produced on the farm is used to supplement the meals offered at our school and community kitchen, so the children get to experience the process of producing food from plant to plate.

Project Chicken

We are currently raising money to buy 100 chickens for the farm in order to provide our students with fresh eggs in their school meals.

Please consider donating $12 to buy a chicken.
